Debra Van Every, CMP, CHME President

Debra began D. VanEvery and Associates in 1996 after a career in hospitality sales and marketing with a wide variety of hotel chain franchises. With over 20 years of experience, a keen business sense and innovative vision, she had a solid foundation for launching a successful business. Since establishing D. VanEvery and Associates, Debra strives to see that the company remains on the cutting edge of meeting planning industry. This was accomplished in part by earning her Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) and Certified Hospitality Marketing Executive (CHME) designations. Under Debra’s guidance, the D. VanEvery and Associates team organizes large and small domestic meetings, international meetings, and continuing education meetings. She has assembled a staff with knowledge of countless worldwide meeting destinations. Debra is involved in several professional and civic organizations including membership in Meeting Professionals International, Professional Conference Management Association, and Rotary International. In addition, she serves on advisory boards for Visit Florida and Plan Your Meetings magazine.



Melissa Ketchabaw, CMP

Melissa is a graduate of Bowling Green State University.  Her twelve years of meeting planning experience includes the management of meetings and special events at Special Olympics North Carolina and Octagon Sports Management where she was involved with 2 Senior PGA Golf Tournaments.  She has planned and implemented meetings that range in size from 10 to 3,000 people in both domestic and international locations. Her tenure with D. VanEvery & Associates has enabled Melissa to utilize her multitude of skills and talents to deliver exceptional customer service.  Melissa obtained her Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation, regarded as the international standard of excellence in the meeting planning industry, in 2005.


Ashley Zimtbaum

Ashley Zimtbaum moved to Raleigh to attend North Carolina State University where she would work towards a degree in Communications, with a concentration in public relations. The last semester of her senior year she took part in an internship with the Carolina Hurricanes' ticket sales department. It was through great connections with this position that landed her a job with D. VanEvery and Associates. She has now been part of the staff for 3 1/2 years. As a meeting planner, she is currently working towards earning her CMP certification.
